Call for a Hospitality Manager

My first role in the Chapter leadership was as Hospitality Manager. And it was a fantastic way to begin my experience in a professional organization. Since then, I have had the opportunity to meet so many other technical communicators and to work with a great group of fellow volunteers.

But now, the time feels right to pass the torch to another. So, if you feel that you would benefit from becoming the Chapter's newest Hospitality Manager, I encourage you to volunteer!

Here’s a little background on the Hospitality Manager position:

What Does the Hospitality Manager Do?

• Organize the room and food for each meeting
• Check guests into the meeting
• Provide a welcoming experience for all guests

How Much Time Does this Involve?

• 1-2 hours each month preparing for the meeting
• 3 hours on the night of the meeting (arriving a little before everyone to set up and staying until the meeting is over to collect the evaluations)

Are There Any Requirements for the Position?

• Able to come to each monthly meeting on time
• Organizational skills to prepare for the meeting
• Able to handle cash accurately
• Interest in Chapter activities
