Newsletter of the Society for Technical Communication, San Francisco Chapter February/March 2009 |
Dear Readers,
My name is Marie McElravy and I'm your new newsletter editor. Thank you, Marc Smircich, for your excellent work since June 2004, including the transition to online publication, and your great documentation that made my first experience with publishing this newsletter a reasonably easy process.
Because the newsletter reaches and informs many more members than those who attend the meetings, I want to encourage all of you to submit articles such as book reviews, hints and tips on tools, or recommendations for speakers, seminars, or classes that are related to technical communication. You can also submit letters to the editor to comment on such issues as industry trends or recent presentations. (Legal stuff: Please remember that the chapter does reserves the right to edit all submissions, remain the sole arbiter of whether to accept an article for publication and when to publish it, either in whole or in part, and that if your article includes copyrighted material, you must obtain permission to publish it from the copyright holder.)
Of course, you can also come to the meetings and share in person; it's a great opportunity to learn and network.
Marie McElravy, Editor
