Winning grants takes quite a bit of training and practice, partly to "learn the language" as well as to become acquainted with the resources offered by the bidder and the decision-making process of the targeted funder.
A grant and proposal presentation will help STC members use and sell their capabilities in writing, editing, and effectively targeting intended audiences. The clients might be non-profits or companies seeking either grants or government contracts. And, some technical writers may personally be supporting favored non-profits and interested in providing pro bono tech. communication support – it’s a very rewarding way to volunteer.
