At the June chapter meeting, the San Francisco Chapter STC presented the Distinguished Chapter Service Award to Larry Pastori and honored STC Fellow Dana Chisnell and STC Associate Fellow Barbara Giammona, who achieved their new ranks at STC's 54th Annual Conference in Minneapolis.
The Distinguished Chapter Service Award acknowledges the work of chapter members who provide exemplary service to the Society through their dedication to the chapter and its activities.
Larry's citation reads: In recognition of your leadership and dedicated service to the San Francisco chapter and its members.
The rank of fellow is conferred only upon associate fellows who have attained such eminence in the field of technical communication that the board deems them worthy of being singled out as one of the select few who have distinguished the Society and the profession.
Dana's citation reads: For leadership in the profession as a user experience consultant, mentor, and conference presenter, and for outstanding contributions to the STC through leadership of the virtual communities during the STC transformation.
The rank of associate fellow is conferred only upon a senior member who has attained distinction in the field of technical communication. Senior members may not apply for the rank of associate fellow; they must be nominated by a committee composed of fellows and associate fellows.
Barbara's citation reads: For excellence in managing technical communication organizations, for outstanding efforts in developing strategic leadership skills among the profession's management corps, and for distinguished publications and presentations on management issues.
